New Digital Information Screen in Dunoon
Brief
Dunoon, a popular tourist destination on Scotland’s Cowal Peninsula, wanted to make local information more visible and accessible to residents and visitors. The solution was a digital information point installed in a busy public area, creating an additional communication channel available 24/7.
Challenge & Requirements
Dunoon Presents, the local Business Improvement District organisation, identified a communication gap between local businesses, cultural events, community activities and tourists.
They needed an outdoor digital display positioned in a prominent location, where information could be updated easily and accessed throughout the day. As a permanent installation in a public space, the solution also needed to remain reliable in changing outdoor conditions, resist vandalism, and require minimal maintenance.
Solution & Results
Dunoon Presents selected the imotion FLOW 46 Portrait outdoor digital sign and installed it in a prominent location in the town centre.
The display gives local businesses, event organisers and the wider community a new way to reach people. Events, local services, announcements and visitor information can now be presented in one visible and easily accessible location throughout the day.
Designed for harsh outdoor use, imotion FLOW was a natural fit for the project. Its high brightness display remains readable in changing daylight conditions, while automatic brightness adjustment and intelligent thermal management allow the system to adapt to its surroundings without requiring constant operator attention. The stainless steel enclosure provides long term durability, particularly important in Dunoon’s demanding coastal environment.
The reaction from the local community captured the purpose of the project perfectly:
