Modernizing Citizen Communication with Outdoor Interactive Totem

Brief:

Infinitus, in collaboration with Bayer Schilder, recently worked with the Austrian municipality to introduce an innovative solution for citizen engagement and information sharing. The project aimed to upgrade traditional communication methods by installing an outdoor interactive totem, making essential information easily accessible to residents.

Situation Analysis:

Mattersburg recognized the need to improve citizen engagement and the accessibility of important information. With society becoming increasingly digital, traditional notice boards and printed materials were no longer sufficient for effectively reaching the community. The municipality had already taken steps towards modernization with a new website but wanted a more interactive solution to better serve citizens.

Solution:

Bayer Schilder proposed an outdoor interactive totem to be placed in front of the town hall. This totem acted as a digital notice board, featuring a touchscreen interface for easy navigation. Content included four main categories: official notices, contact numbers, parking information, and upcoming events. Users could also scan QR codes for more details on events directly from their mobile devices. On the official release day, Mayor Claudia Schlager encouraged feedback to ensure the totem remained user-friendly and relevant.

Public Display:

The installation of motion FLOW 46 Portrait Freestanding with touch screen in Mattersburg represented a significant step towards modernizing citizen communication. Positioned prominently outside the town hall, it served as a visible symbol of innovation and accessibility. The totem enhanced the urban landscape while empowering residents to stay informed and connected with their community. By providing a centralized hub for essential information, it fostered a sense of belonging and civic engagement among citizens.

In conclusion, the partnership between Infinitus, Bayer Schilder, and the municipality of Mattersburg demonstrates the transformative impact of outdoor digital signage in improving citizen engagement and urban communication. Through the use of technology, communities can create more inclusive environments that cater to the evolving needs of their residents.
